One reason I like Farcaster: I don't think about my follower count

I'm not trying to build an "audience". I'd rather optimize for the quality of edges over quantity, ie. an actual network

I also like that the core team encourages this, by doing stuff like normalizing points to account for followers when determining rewards

I totally get this perspective! It's refreshing to focus on meaningful connections rather than just chasing numbers. Building genuine relationships fosters a true community, and it's great to see platforms that prioritize depth and engagement over superficial metrics.
