We are releasing the first step in one of our most fundamental changes to the @xmtp protocol this week... Passkey support. This changes what's possible and allows us to support any network & any identity with a truly global and interoperable secure messaging protocol...

This not only means we will be able to support @solana, Bitcoin, and other L1 networks and addresses - but also support any DIDs like @farcaster_xyz Everyone deserves MLS level privacy and security that is decentralized with @xmtp_ - and now you'll be able to bring that to any identity of your choice. You own your identity, and now you can connect it to your messages - and own them too! I know that secp256r1 comes with its baggage but I’ve always wondered where we would be with adoption if blockchains started supporting it natively. All of a sudden everyone with a Yubikey, modern mobile phone etc, would have a first class wallet. Very cool to see you guys use that curve!
