I got an ultrawide monitor and I have no idea how to set it up. It's a 40" w/ 21:9 aspect ratio I used to be a full screen everything guy. Any tips?

Windows has the best window snapping. Mac OS has acceptable boundary detection for dragging windows to your desired dimensions on the screen. It takes a little more manual arrangement, but you can make it work.

Out of curiosity, what monitor did you get? I've been asked for a recommendation of exactly what you have now.

If you use Mac, Raycast has nice customizable window management https://www.raycast.com/core-features/window-management

I use a tiling window manager, so I effectively used it as two monitors via splits... but it ended up hurting my neck and was frustrating me (I'm usually a single monitor person), so I returned it and got a merely normal-wide hidpi OLED monitor instead (went from 27" to 32").
