I got an ultrawide monitor and I have no idea how to set it up. It's a 40" w/ 21:9 aspect ratio

I used to be a full screen everything guy. Any tips?

i've used divvy for years and love it (despite the title of the video saying mac only it's actually cross-platform)

I used to use Divvy many years ago! I used Moom now, though. Very similar, not sure why I switched

I guess I'm asking for tips beyond window management. Not sure what that means exactly, hah

IIRC Windows had a patent on window snapping which explains why Mac is behind :(

I got this monitor specifically cause it has a KVM though and I've got a Mac/PC setup so part of the time my window management doesn't suck

Windows has the best window snapping.

Mac OS has acceptable boundary detection for dragging windows to your desired dimensions on the screen. It takes a little more manual arrangement, but you can make it work.

Out of curiosity, what monitor did you get? I've been asked for a recommendation of exactly what you have now.

I use a tiling window manager, so I effectively used it as two monitors via splits... but it ended up hurting my neck and was frustrating me (I'm usually a single monitor person), so I returned it and got a merely normal-wide hidpi OLED monitor instead (went from 27" to 32").
