I'm pretty sure the reason I've never loved Tailwind is that I don't use it enough to memorize all the classes. About to look up how to add a border for the millionth time even though I know the CSS rule for it.

Nvm, the inconsistencies get me too. A 2px bottom border is border-b-2, a 4px is border-b-4, but a 1px is just border-b 🀨

an ai tool like cursor is really good at getting tailwind out of a human readable description of what you need

The class is border, spoilers πŸ˜‚ I always forget centering vertically versus horizontally in flex but I goof that in both tailwind and css

recommend tailwind intellisense vscode plugin if you're not already using it. gives you autocomplete and you can hover any class to see raw css. https://marketplace.cursorapi.com/items?itemName=bradlc.vscode-tailwindcss

@typeof you can always set custom like border-[1px] or color-[#ffffff] i usually go with that instead of their preset classes

I find Tailwind docs surprisingly difficult to navigate, so I use a Tailwind cheatsheet https://tailwindcomponents.com/cheatsheet/ (it's getting a bit outdated being 3 minor versions behind, but still gets most things right)

vs code extensions I recommend: 1. headwind: sorts classes for consistency 2. tailwind fold: hides classes so code is cleaner

I do use and love it, yet some class names go missing in my head once a while.πŸ˜…
