Hmm. Wondering if I should stop watching 3 body problem and read the books? The concepts/ideas in the show are really fascinating and I imagine they are explored more deeply in print. But how is the writing (or rather, translation)? Worth it or no?

The basics outlines of the plot and the science are the same, but characters, dialogue and timelines are kind of mishmashed in the TV series . I've only read book one, I can't say it was GREAT.Writing is matter of fact, not really worth it. I'm 3 episodes into series and wondering if I should just stop and read book2.

Hmm. Interesting. You sound conflicted š I was thinking of getting a book, but maybe Iāll download a sample on Kindle to evaluate firstā¦ I hate investing in mediocre writing. Thanks for the input! 300 $DEGEN

I am conflicted, I suppose because initially it seemed to be approaching deep questions about truth and reality. I'm guessing that's the intention for the cultural revolution backdrop. But I haven't gotten the payoff yet, but maybe I haven't gone deep enough yet. Hints and deeper philosophy, but not clear yet.
