I haven't watched too many Sci-fi tv series / movies, but I'm  a fan of space operas, utopian / dystopian stuff, and just good stories in general. 

Will check out both this and firefly. Thanks for the recommendation and write-up!

Not sure of your sci-fi preferences, but personally this is one of the best series created, up there with Firefly IMO.

It hasn’t got the comedic western charm though. It’s a complex and nuanced take on space exploration with well developed characters and story arcs, as well lots of great action.

I do recommend it
