I strongly dislike the term "non-technical", but I am the non-technical person building, loving, obsessing over emerging tech. What are some alternative words for non-technical?

non-something is a strange phrasing. are "technical people" non-business or non-creative? There's sometimes a bit of over-indexing on the tech side. Focus on the strengths! Depends on everyone's context, but there's a flipside: engineers get pidgeon-holed into being "just techie" not able to understand market/customer needs. Throughout my history I alternated between: creator, maker (when the Maker Movement was peeking), and now partially settled on builder / fCTO.

Agree with the over-indexing on the tech side. We also see this when speaking about βsoft skillsβ, which are basically non techy skills. Both terms (soft, non tech) are used to create a false divide and invisible hierarchy putting tech-trained people on top of the rest of us in the tech landscape. That is very silly at best, total dog shit at worst
