Found out last month that my sweet girl has cancer—a form of soft tissue sarcoma—and it’s completely wrecked me. I adopted her in my early 20s, and she’s only 9.5.

She’s going in for surgery on Monday, and we’re hoping it’s not the aggressive kind. The tumor is on her hind leg, so if they can’t remove it all, amputation is the next step.

Haven’t talked about this much, but if anyone’s been through something similar, I’d love to hear. The tripod dog groups on Facebook have been a huge comfort.

For now, just soaking up a fun weekend with my little bug before a tough week ahead.
