Maybe we could encourage people to cast more about what their bookish interests are and what kind of reader they are.

It may feel out off place because right now the focus is very much on the books themselves, but even recommendations can become more meaningful when you know who is behind the recommendation.

Creative nonfiction. Histories and personal stories. I have a fat stack of fiction in my queue but keep skipping the line w a new NF.  

Not a fan of self help and productivity books. Not because I have either mastered. Far from it. They just give me guru, cultish, get rich quick, scammy vibes I can’t seem to shake
