I don’t understand this. How does farcaster facilitate digital ownership in a way that would feel meaningful to any curious person coming in off the street?

You own your FID/username and audience.  You can leave Warpcast and still use these.

This is unlike every web2 social app.

What is the point if you can’t build an audience?

There is way more interesting content all over absolutely deliberately being suppressed in favor of boring slop by a few.  There are people here willing to grind for it, but most people won’t

What was the point of Facebook/Twitter before it had people?

This is why Dan says we need more interesting/entertaining content - so more people spend time here and make it easier for individuals to create audiences.

You could take your FID to other apps in the ecosystem and build an audience there I guess,  warpcast is the most popular now but might not always be the case
