I have had an extra affection for pigeons ever since learning that we domesticated them as companions and helpers and now that we’ve sufficiently lost interest, they can’t survive without us. I love this story. I’m guessing you know about pigeons being the first proper drones in wwii (maybe wwi)

yes i've always associated pigeons with mail delivery since i read about that in books when i was little! i'm sad that they're seen mostly as pests now that they're no longer useful :(
