Thought exercise: imagine you’re dead tomorrow. Your work friends will be utterly devastated. For a few weeks. Then they move on. Your family, partner, maybe a few friends will be devastated and will suffer your loss forever. Your internet friends might not even know what happened.

customers are waiting on me to push an update very soon so they would be very upset, confused, etc. those who don't find out until very late will get mad at lack of email responses up until that point.
