I do not believe lockups, vesting etc. would change airdrop PA

It’s just dancing around the real question and the only thing that matters, which is, are you issuing an asset that people desire to hold?

Controlling something that produces or retains usefulness or desirability. 

"Hype" works until it doesn't. It's not long term value. 

Meme tokens only have hype. Any token that "pumps" is probably only trading on hype. Any value built on hype will disappear when the hype moves on.

Tokens that actually control/govern something that is producing a real thing that people want/need, not just a zero-sum ponzi scheme, have long term value.

Lockups just create hype, not long term value. Still gotta build something real, or you're just delaying the dump.
