As I've read through the transcripts for interviews I've done this week, it's made me mindful of how much I communicate (verbally or non-verbally) to built rapport ("yeah, okay", "sure", etc.) versus build understanding. While good & necessary, too much of it can break the speaker's train of thought, so I'm trying to restrain rapport-communication a bit more and see what difference it makes.
