Working in a museum as a security guard or docent or tour guide is an easy job that puts you face to face with world class art all day long; an experience hard to duplicate unless you have an insane personal collection. If you’re an aspiring artist of any age looking for a job, highly recommend.

If you’re on the ball it also gives you access to collectors, patrons and enthusiasts. Worked for Dan Flavin and more.

This is it right here. You get the best of both worlds: helping noobs learn about each piece of art, and then learning from the others, who studied it decades longer than yourself, the people who go to enjoy it. Incredible positioning.

I think it’s a great alternative to art school if that’s not an option. It really helps you think and tell about art. An under explored worm hole to the art world at large.
