I was thinking recently about how Ethereum only works because it's ~communist at the protocol level (collective ownership, consensus governance) and ~capitalist at the transaction/contract level (market dynamics, tokens, MEV, etc). Maybe something else at the L0 social level?

it's definitely one way to frame it haha. the challenge is that it has a lot of baggage, and is inaccurate - there's no central committee to corrupt/skim the flow of assets/incentives

The consensus of the protocol *is* the central committee. That's the innovation. One more related hot take: https://warpcast.com/shazow.eth/0xbcd651
