Cosmic Desktop by System 76 is really excellent. I've been using it for a little while now. I believe its still in pre-alpha, so take that word of caution but it does window tiling exactly the way I want with modern but minimal chrome.

I used the pop os window tiling for a bit on plasma and really liked it. ended up removing it cus it was just a little too unstable but that was a while ago
