One thing to always remember in this space. We are building new financial primitives. Don't expect it to be easy to build better monetary systems than the legacy tech. Monetary systems are founded on risk. Risk isn't smthing we do well in this space. To find the winners, look for those managing risk appropriately.

Using Base as an example for OP ecosystem, there is ~$1.6BB in funds locked in the bridge contract. Base has brought in tremendous revenue past 90 days. They can afford some level of smart contract insurance to mitigate impact of a bridge exploit. Should users demand it? https://defillama.com/chain/Base

I think the recent push to build on top of Bitcoin is a pure money grab. If you are a builder that loves Bitcoin, why try to make it compete with smart contract chains, which have a 10 year headstart? Just lean into your value prop.
