One thing to always remember in this space. We are building new financial primitives. Don't expect it to be easy to build better monetary systems than the legacy tech. Monetary systems are founded on risk. Risk isn't smthing we do well in this space. To find the winners, look for those managing risk appropriately.

Using Base as an example for OP ecosystem, there is ~$1.6BB in funds locked in the bridge contract. Base has brought in tremendous revenue past 90 days. I think the recent push to build on top of Bitcoin is a pure money grab. If you are a builder that loves Bitcoin, why try to make it compete with smart contract chains, which have a 10 year headstart? Just lean into your value prop.

Imgn this project has >$60MM in retained earnings in the last two years. Imgn this project has an endowment w/ >$100MM for future.

Free txs if user verified. If I have a world ID, I'm sending my assets to the L2. But, friction is still massive to find an orb. Most activity is speculators chasing drops/APY/memes rn. They won't seek an orb, and likely don't care about free gas--jus cheap gas. But real use cases, like social will be interesting.

It is more appropriate to compare Ethereum to Celestia than Solana. Ethereum is a DA chain with added ability to execute (validate) fraud/zk proofs. It may take mainstream a cycle to realize this.

Ethereum enforces the validity of offchain transactions that would affect account state maintained in a contract residing on Ethereum. Why is this important? In order to reorg rollup txs, you’d need to reorg Ethereum too.
