My best thinking happens while walking, or when doing mundane things.

But, despite knowing this, I still have the terrible habit of not letting problems wait until those moments. For example, if I'm stuck on something with my work, I'll be like, "If I work on this for just a little while longer, I can figure it out." And then hours pass, and I've gotten nowhere. Only for the solution to immediately pop in my head at 11:30pm while washing my hair or something 😆

What I tell my problems sometimes:

“Hey we’re not arriving at any sort of breakthrough here, so why don’t we circle back at 8 in the morning and see if anything has happened”
