Playboi Carti is supposed to be dropping a new album today. Here's a few thoughts about it.. -300k in the first week? Fans have been waiting years for this. -I hope this shakes things up, hip-hop has been in a weird place recently. -Akademics said theres one thing we're going to be talking about after the album drops... -I think Carti has been making ground breaking music as of late. I think he is the most popular artist in the world rn. I think he leads the industry, and sets A LOT of trends. I think he influences the culture almost as much as Future does, maybe even more with the younger artists. -His production is very important to his recipe..his songs make you feel things, almost making the actual words irrelevant. Same thing with Yeat.

I'm now that old guy that doesn't like "new" music. Always felt like he sounded like a T-Pain - Lil Wayne love child. Never got into his flow.

lol all good! "new" music is funny...the entertainment industry moves really fast, and music is always changing..especially with hip-hop..but yeah you're not alone on that one..these days almost everyone uses autotune..its everything. wayne and tpain def were the pioneers though. and honestly carti doesn't really have a "flow" these days. this used to be his flow. and one that started a whole new wave of rappers trying to imitate this mumble heavy vibe based flow that had the streets going crazy... he's just saying words, making people hype, and again the production carries the weight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCveByMXd_0
