Is there a point where the opposition to Apple's app store rules becomes too great and the dam breaks? What do you think?

IMO the issue here is similar to royalties in NFT marketplaces vs. the consumer. 

Consumers don't feel this pain, Creators (developers) do. If the developers coordinate together then it probably will. 

Recent reference would be would be when Opensea announced reevaluation of royalties.
