How are casts into channels distributed nowadays? Who sees them? Context is I have a couple friends that have joined and am wondering if/when i should tell them to post in channels or their timeline. For example, questions about /frames-v2, /los-angeles takes, snippets for /dev.

Dan said casting outside channels or in channels have the same distribution, imo it doesnโt really matter but if what youโre casting about is exteremly topic centric better to cast in the appropriate channel

A new account has near no followers though, presumably you get some distribution from posting into a channel, otherwise you're kinda doa. For an account with followers, if you post into a channel that your followers don't follow, would they be likely to see it? This comes up for me when doing a product release, I used to post into /automod to try to drive followers there, but if it was only broadcast to /automod followers (like a narrow cast), i'd quote tweet it on my timeline as wellโor something.

As for new accounts now that youโve put it this way, yes they need to cast into channels.
