GM! Woke up and installed this second battery to the solar setup. I wish I had a hybrid inverter but I am just using what was here previously and making the necessary upgrade. ✌️❤️🌞 24v 200ah total is enough to run the house for a day of no sun. If you live on grid you probably consume a lot more.

I have yet to explore how much my home consumes— I’m working through the steps to be more self reliant, as you know.

Just go around and find everything that's plugged in all day and make a list, it's an easy start. At my house it's usually Starlink and the fridge running all day and that's it. Really not much.

Do you unplug devices or appliances when they aren’t in use? I seem to recall learning there is a trickle of electricity always being pulled and it’s best to shut off the breaker or unplug them. Is this something you’ve heard as well?

No, typically not. I will put things in a power strip if it goes into a standby like a TV or computer. Then I just shut off the power strip and not be concerned. The pet draw is typically negligible. I do shutoff the Starlink using a timer while I am asleep to avoid eating power while none uses it
