Affirmation

End of an era. 

The large branch that fell off our 100+ year old maple tree. It’s the same branch that holds the rope swing, seen in the picture. 

I was out on my porch cooking dinner on the grill when it happened. First thing that alerted me was the loud pops and cracks. I looked up and witnessed it crashing into the tree in our neighbor’s yard. 

That must have slowed it significantly because when it made contact with the utility line, it only stretched and bowed it instead of snapping it in two.

save a good chunk of it to dry out and be made into something heartfelt for the fam

I only cried a little reading these ideas, all good energy so not a risk of causing a horcrux 😜

Can’t wait to see what they become in the coming seasons (drying takes a looooong time)

Thank you friend for this idea. I have already been planning on what I might do with the block of wood. So far my ideas are:
1. Carve a likeness of my dog Skylar
2. Make boards and then turn those into a wooden box
3. Create frames from the wood and mount photos of my children playing on the swing.

Agreed. Make art with it if you can. Might be good wood. 👀
