I wouldn't say that there's no incentive just because there's no monetary reward. Points in this regard are useful to determine who has been helpful to and active in an ecosystem. Especially in the absence of direct monetary reward for their effort.

Helpful ≠ Active. Degen users/airdrop hunters are a worthless customer segment.

hmm but in this case if say you are a native staker you are helpful. You are basically restaking your ETH through their system.

True, but depending on the service they can be beneficial, in the case of staking. It's still up to the points issuer to make sure that incentives to gain points require a net benefit to the system.
