Its good that eigen team has been transparent on this from start. Especially Sreeram even mentioned that their desired goal is to get eigen internalized in core eth protocol.

I am fine with some projects not doing a token like farcaster and eigen layer.

I wouldn't say that there's no incentive just because there's no monetary reward.

Points in this regard are useful to determine who has been helpful to and active in an ecosystem. Especially in the absence of direct monetary reward for their effort.
