Been thinking about the difference between what we’re building and what Warpcast is doing. I see success as a mix of ideas and execution. Some say execution is everything, others say ideas are worthless 'cause “everyone has one” — but honestly, both matter. Warpcast can clearly execute, and they’re building something massive—like a Telegram for the world. But we’re not trying to be that. We’re aiming for something more like Hacker News: smaller, tighter, and unapologetically degen. A place for crypto-native weirdos who like experimenting, having fun, and memeing their way through the internet. And that’s the beauty of it. We’re not playing the VC game. We don’t need to turn $150M into billions. We just need to build something fun, with a real use case, that helps distribute the token more effectively. So yeah—less pressure, more play. Let’s make something actually enjoyable, actually useful, and actually degen. Will be thinking more on all this as we keep building. 🎩

It is a mix of ideas and execution but its mostly about having the right person (or people) who can envision, code and -also- community build. It's a lot harder for bigger companies to pull that off but finding that skillset in one person or a small team is quite rare. You can dance around community building a little bit with incentives but if you want to make something like Hacker News then you need to attract passionate people who show up to share their interests and not on the expectation of free airdrops.
