I mention this anecdote because many social protocols/platforms of web3 optimize themselves for American/1st world users and then the incentives build people trying to fit into that mold instead of trying to build independent subcommunities that engage in their own languages and culture. Twitter/X was known to have a highly engaged Japanese community - although sometimes their paths cross with western users they mainly do their own thing. Especially when it comes to web3 "culture" and general internet memes hearing everyone talking about the same thing becomes boring and insular very quickly. Value = people from far away posting about what actually interests them instead of trying to appeal to an "everyone audience".
