I saw this video popping like crazy on my X feed today. Seems to be another instance of a controversial arrest of a black man (here Tyreek Hill) in America and as expected, everybody picked a side. I watched the whole video, but I have to say, I'm a bit confused. A few thoughts: -The officers looked short tempered and agressive, but not at first. -Hill kept calling the officers "bro" 🙄 -Hill rolled up his tainted window while interacting with the officer 🚩 -Refused to sit down after being asked to. Said it's because he just had knee surgery, but also, played football later that day? 🤔 -The guy in the other car not showing his Driver's licence after being asked 10 times. I mean, I know there's history of police violence, even police killing citizens in the US. But in this case, there's none of that (there's been rough handling of Hill for sure, but Hill didnt show his best behavior either), so I'm really curious as to why it seems to have become such a controversial arrest? 😳

What's wrong with calling someone "bro"? Why the nitpicking?

Is this a serious question? You're being pulled over by the police, and you think calling the officer "bro" is going to get you the best outcome? If you seriously think so, I can't do anything for you...

This might be a hot take, but you should be able to call a cop "bro" without having to worry about them responding with violence.

Every little thing adds up. I agree with you on that specific cause/consequence, but call a cop bro, pull your window back up while interacting, dont comply when asked to bring it down, and you might not get the best behavior from the cop in return. He was handled roughly as a consequence, he wasnt beaten up.

There's no question the way he behaved was stupid. He should that been aware that's how they were going to respond. But my point is that cops shouldn't be allowed to react that way. As the holders of all the power in the situation, cops should be held to a higher standard. It's their job to suck it up and act like professionals.

I agree. But just like calling a cop bro is not reprehensible by law, pulling someone out of their vehicle because they're not complying to orders, even "roughly", is not reprehensible by law either. Cop should be held to higher standards, I agree with that, but you can't act like a prick and expect zero consequences. In this particular case, the racial narrative that's being spun online is totally blowing out of proportion. He wasn't treated like that because he's black, he was treated like that because he acted like a prick.
