I'd be uncomfortable with pretty much any state-level restrictions on what people choose to consume. I'd much rather see that effort put into education, healthcare, and making sure more people have easy and cheap access to a healthy diet.

In many countries, the state controls what products people can consume. Some products are considered addictive, and net negative for society if sold without restriction. If you are comfortable with the state banning the sale of fentanyol, meth, etc wouldn't a logical conclusion be regulating addictive foods?
