People who would not be interested in living in this: What would be a sufficiently moderate version of the concept that you *would* be willing to live in it?

btw, the Daily Mail made up the bit on pizza and donuts to sensationalize the headline. I never said anything of the sort. The Don’t Die Network State will meet people where they’re at and journey together.

eating junk food infrequently should be similar to speeding instead of an act of violence

Speaking strictly of food, mediterranean diet would be acceptable to me. For the rest, would need to know more about how this state would be structured and run.

Just a culture that's about being fit & healthy & going outside. Westside LA is fantastic for it, more of that everywhere.

Treat them like cigarettes/alcohol/cannabis in Canada? Make them higher friction to buy + limit advertising about them. So, if I _really_ want a burger/pizza/etc. I just have to go in a special store and/or ask for it specifically vs. it being the "default"?

If it was more related to tax and gamification rather than an “act of violence”

I'd be uncomfortable with pretty much any state-level restrictions on what people choose to consume. I'd much rather see that effort put into education, healthcare, and making sure more people have easy and cheap access to a healthy diet.

I’d want it decentralized (DAO style) and more anarchic (no single hierarch, esp. if they come with cultish undertones), and more of a positive reinforcement culture than one of prohibitions. Other than that, I think there are enough people already who commit to a healthy lifestyle that the alignment is 80% there

Have you thought about how to reward or "slash" for the new social norms? Working on a decentralized `AI Attestor` to do so.

People live in these sorts of societies all the time (think: cults, communes, religious societies and sects) The fact that most people don’t live in them speaks to how any sort of restriction appeals to only a small set of people if the restriction isn’t backed by violence. I would be fine with visiting!

The whole premise is flawed, as the mice studies that justify the rules don't match up with behavior of populations that live long (the rules aren't lindy) Could well be that harm from removing alcohol as social grease far outweighs any effects of the cellular-level study noise that Huberman/BJ-types like to amplify

Presenting it as an individual choice it's a falacy, it's a collective issue. Industrial society (w/ crony capitalism) is the mother of all these junk food & drug addictions. Sporadic use of is not bad. But health & well-being problems are just an externality for big corps with $ benefits and growth as main drivers.
