I think once a network is permissionless, that basically anyone can participate in any part of it, what really matters is the number of people that actually care enough to participate across all parts. This has little to do with number of nodes or stake or whatever.

Isn’t credible neutrality of records / enforcement the crucial value prop of crypto? (And this is almost entirely determined by effectiveness of decentralization)
