I don’t often drink wine, but when I do, it’s because I’m cooking with it (and it’s usually a $5 bottle 😆).

The end product: vegan dirty rice. 

In traditional dirty rice, the dark color comes from browning chicken liver or gizzards. This one is made with tofu, and ingredients like tamari, thyme, sage, oregano, Worcestershire, onions, garlic, celery, green bell peppers, and a bit of red wine. 🍷 

The rice is cooked with the tofu and veggies in a blended mix of bay leaves, green onion, fresh garlic, fire roasted tomatoes, and water. 🤌🏻

Ahh wondered what that was! I ate seitan for the first time yesterday, liked it much more than tofu. Tasted very similar to heura, in fact they may be the same product.

Seitan is made with wheat gluten. We've made our own to make "ribs", lol. It looks like heura is made with peas/legumes, which would be a healthier option, honestly. I'll have to look into it!
