4.37km 0.68km For the first time since starting running again, today actually felt like running and not jogging. I started quick, I felt good, and decided to push it to see if i could complete the 5km at a speed that felt much more natural, rather than drop a gear and lumber along. I didn't quite make it, as the two distances above suggest, which made me feel guilty enough to complete the distance anyway. This has happened to me before. Two to four weeks into a new training session and i realise i have a speed i need to run at that my body actually prefers, that's no more difficult, or even actually easier than running slower. Overall time of activity at the same distance is less, posture seems to be better, contact with floor smoother. I have trained distance so far, today was more about speed, I'm going to incorporate intervals now to work on stamina, but this felt good.
