I think this discussion misses the point about value accrual. In the end it matters how much value accruals in each token, irrespective of fixed, increasing or decreasing supply. Token price results from token demand/supply based on the value accrual per token

For months now, my Linkedin timeline is flooded with AUDI ads about their canteen and restaurant (yes AUDI, the car manufacturer). I am actually on the market for a new car this year but when I think about AUDI now, all I can think of is their bad Linkedin ads about food but not their cars (@audi maybe you let somebody know, even if your account is probably not official)

The implementation on token level is a little tricky if relying on “terms“. Typically implementation smart contract-wise would implement erc20 tokens and staking contract. Revenue of platform is distributed to stakers.

Adding: I liked the “ascent of money“ for a historical perspective. Especially where it develops on countries abilities to take on debt as decisive element in history, e.g. Netherlands vs Spain. Although Spain had huge precious metals inflows (“hard currency”) from their colonies, the Dutch were more credible, ultimately allowing them to raise funds and win their war for independence 👍
