For me, it’s ramen.

I will travel out of my way for an  incredible bowl.

I had ~20 bowls on a recent trip to Japan, have likely eaten a few hundred bowls over the last 7 years, and have a ramen instagram for logging.

Depends on the city and what type of ramen you like. Too many options.

One hack is just curate off Ramen Beast's list: He eats several bowls a day and rates them. I filtered based off 4* recs for types of ramen I like, often those unique to the region I was in.

No ramen shop will do reservations. Meals are pretty quick since ramen is fast and casual. The lines generally move fast. Very popular shops might have lines that last an hour plus though, but you can often hack this by going at the right times (when they open, off hours, etc.)
