I think it all depends on how its done.  The current X algo is really good and very responsive to change and not dredging things up that you used to like but dont anymore.   Fine tuning it with "dont show this" and liking and commenting on things radically changes what you see after 2-3 days.   On the other side of this.. If you arent aware of how good it is and then go on an angry ranty string of days, you end up with a whole new feed of anger inducing posts.
