How did parents let their kids leave to “go find themselves” before the ability to communicate via phone? The amount of anxiety I would feel…. Crippling. No way to check in and it could be weeks, months, years 🤯

Right?! my parents sent me to Istanbul with my grandmother when I was just one years old for the first time… I can’t imagine not knowing exactly what and how my one-year-old was doing in another country

Right?! Maybe that’s how they slept. They just knew that if they didn’t hear anything that things were OK. 🤔 Whereas us on the other hand, we know where our kids are every second lol GPS / 24/7 video - etc etc The one thing I’m sure of, is that my kids won’t be able to get away with the stuff I did and that’s due to home Video monitoring lol (nest / google Home etc)
