a layover in 'lanta back in '08, maybe? they had these, like, office areas for smokers? I remember sitting in there amongst these dried out ghouls just listlessly sucking down tobacco. the ventilation was falling down and the whole area just felt like a "go fuck off and die" zone. So I quit. Finally.

I had been quitting for several years by that point. the prevailing culture tilted away from "smokers are cool" to "smokers smell bad" making it a wee bit easier by then.
