fwiw, i think it's awesome that we're doing "permissionless mumbo jumbo" (points, degen, ham, hunt, moxie...), paired with developer legos, speedrunning experiments — there's no place to learn like farcaster and i wish it had been here in my 20s.

someone likened FC to an incubator similar to YC (@tldr ?) and they're absolutely spot on.

I think @ted and @nonlinear.eth also made a similar point on /manysuchcases a couple episodes ago.

Ie, that FC is fortunate to have the chance to figure out a lot of these “problems” that come with financialization (reply farming, etc) at our current scale. 

Bc these problems must be solved… do it early!

I keep seeing reply farming tagged as a problem but i need to understand 

Aren’t these tokens/projects distributed through these mechanisms to improve the rate of engagements or ‘replies’ in this case

Is anything wrong in some people trying to reply many people/posts they relate with (emphasis on ‘relate’) to get more?

Isn’t everyone trying to make money?

Many people are here to have genuine conversations. When you feel that someone is replying to you in order to make a little money, it makes those conversation feel less genuine — and hence, for many people, worse

it’s one of the most unique and most attractive aspects of farcaster

The beautiful thing is it’s not just web 3 or crypto 
I have learnt a lot of things hanging out on this app almost everyday
