Remember The Macro: - US Administration is super pro crypto - Bitcoin is at “low” of $97K - Coinbase created the best ETH L2 - Wallets are trivially easy - Gas is trivially cheap - CBW is building a Farcaster client This is the Bull. Keep building. The people right here will win. ILYA.

It’s important to believe :) I respect other people believing in other ETH chains The only thing I strongly insist is ETH over all

if you believe in eth, a single sequencer stage 0 layer 2 should be the last you want to support.

Idealism is useful, but so are people who are building with reality. (Eg, what would crypto be without fiat off ramps in general? That’s centralized by definition) An idealistic chain must win popular users for its idealism to actually be relevant I respect your idealism, but imo you should also respect the people doing what needs to be done to make it real

As I said — I respect the *blend* of idealism and reality. Solana has no long term care for or path to credible neutrality. It’s merely a legal strategy imo.

i think solana is as free market as crypto can get and it's harder to compete without connections, except solana is not a layer 2 with a good amount of validators. although in base, we know people and it's still "young" in comparison, base wants to be solana and you're amongst the few who are in the "in" circle ready to perform what others did at the beginning of solana's rise. in a way, base as a whole wants to achieve the same goal, except a single sequencer stage 0 layer 2 will never attract the same capital as solana with its trust model. so yea, the "idealism" part in this does matter.

Imo this is overly cynical and does not describe the actual intentions of Base as I know it. We’ll see how it plays out!

i don't know, all the eth earned on base sequencer goes straight to coinbase - to keep, or to sell, to sell - that's bad for eth really. so going back to believing in eth, is this aligned?

I think where we can come down here is that I agree it’s totally valid for you to say “I’ll believe it when I see it” I’m in the position of believing *now* that Base does aspire to be a major force for growing etheruem itself, and are navigating reality to do it. This is what I mean by “we will see”. I hope I’m right and believe I will be, but it is partly a matter of faith.
