Depends on the use case I guess

I haven’t found that lots of people explicitly love the act of collecting. (In video games they think of it as leveling up and in fashion they think of it as flexing. Etc)

I do think people like possessing something, which is what buy implies

I almost feel like “collect” is the word people use when they are afraid their value prop isn’t good enough that people would be willing to part with money and buy it

Agree, good distinction

Id love to see more crypto builders not use the word collect out of slight sense of diffidence — but rather bc their active strategy is to make something freely available

makes sense. perhaps collect makes more sense if the item is free
