::Reflections on TNS Conference in Amsterdam:: 🔲 Unsurprising Thing #1: It was the highest density of great content I’ve experienced at a conference, period. 40 speakers. Incredible quality across board. No Q & A's to waste momentum. Perfect time limits. Fast beats at transitions. Great organization. 1/n

🔲 Unsurprising Thing #2: Balaji provided a powerful clarifying theme that unified the firehose of content: “The Parallel Establishment.” This helped give a sense of how to frame and utilize insights across areas as diverse as Real Estate, Education, and Finance. 2/n

🔲 Unsurprising Thing #3: Amsterdam in the Fall is magically beautiful and vibrant. Even though the city was mostly a “background noise” to our intellectual activity, it was a very very worthy host site. Hope we'll be coming back here! 3/n

🔲 Surprising Thing #1: Only ~50% the people I talked w were there primarily bc of crypto! Other big categories: Biotech; Digital Nomadism; Space Exploration. (Pictured here is Jutta and her friend who both came with their 1 y/o sons. They came to TNS to find the community where they will raise their kids!) 4/n

🔲 Surprising Thing #2: A significant investment of time was made to Education – Synthesis, 1517 Fund, Emergent Ventures. This makes sense, but I hadn’t thought of Education before as such a fundamental piece to building network states, in human practice. (Jutta agreed tho.) 5/n

🔲 Surprising Thing #3: Balaji’s Exit Poll survey was so f*ing smart! He’s explicitly searching to create a Values Graph within the movement. It was also genius, imo, to pick particularly polarizing people/topics, since it’s useful to know what can bind us together, and what tear us apart. fi/n
