A few months ago I spilled some smoothie on my ~10 year old standing desk controller and it slowly became unusable.

I was about to buy a replacement from another brand (which TIL was even an option) but I figured if it's dead might as well pry it open.

Turns out warm water and soap was the fix!

i love repair stories. yet another item saved from the junk yard with after a rewarding try. as long as the magic smoke isnt released from the flat black boxes, a little elbow grease (soap and water) can sometimes do the trick.
