switzerland is great for getting shit done. unlike NYC, which was filled with TANTALIZING DISTRACTIONS and 30+ minutes to get anywhere, now that i’m home basically the worst crime i can do to my productivity is go for a walk. and that’s not even a crime, but actually a helpful technique to regain focus (unless the sun is out… a nap by the lake could be good.) anyway, i have mixed feelings about this. i need to find balance; maybe spending more time elsewhere is good for me, too. i will definitely go back to new york as soon as i can. there’s so much more to explore. for the next few weeks, my plan is to lock in and catch up on all the work i delayed while i was gone, finish setting up my studio, paint a commission that was requested, start on wax carving stuff.

try los angeles next time — i've found it's the perfect balance of both worlds. we lived in a little house that felt super peaceful: birds chirping, squirrels running around the trees…the perfect vibe to get shit done. but walk just two blocks down the street and you're in a whole new world, streets filled with amazing food spots and the best kind of distractions, lol.
