Habits i avoid while trying to build muscles - Constantly switching workout routines. - Waiting for motivation to start. - Doing 4-6 sets per exercise. - Not sleeping enough. - Skipping meals/avoiding carbs when on a cut. - Working out 6-7x a week. - Overdoing cardio. - Trying to spot reduce fat. - Not resting at least 3 mins in between sets. Any Additions?

Yah, it's been 10 months of consistent work, but the past month looks and performs like I hit a new gear. It might be because I recently added deloading every 5th week of a cycle What's your preferred set per exercise to build strength?

Dumbbells are my go to weights for strength and target muscles Bench press, squats, deadlifts Those will build strength effectively as they’re compound movements

Nice, but for each exercise, what are typical sets that you would do per day? For me a standard day is 5 sets of 5 reps. You? You mentioned not to do sets of 4-6 on your post and I'm curious what your reps + sets are like for a given exercise if you're optimizing for muscle gains

Ohhh Even if i try i won’t be able to go 4-6 sets, that’s how heavy i lift, and trying to push close to failure 3 sets of 8-10 reps clean, the the rest could be partial if i still can We continuously have to go heavier cause there’s that point you get to you would be stagnant kind of, heavier weights challenges the muscles to grow bigger

Interesting. Maybe my strength gains are different because I'm so new in my resistance training journey. It's been wild to see growth month over month of 5%+ going 80% max (I never hit failure) My motto is to avoid injury first and foremost to keep me in the gym

Being skinny & tall has its disadvantages. Different tradeoffs for adding mass. For me, more so than output, I found input matters more to gain muscle. I previously wasn't getting the total protein per day to add size

I believe it’s even harder to build muscles and grow big as a lean person fr, especially legs😹 You’re gonna have to train legs like 2-3 times 😭
