For me, Gitcoin Grants has never worked and to make it work, I'd have to do a crazy amount of marketing, which would reduce my focus on creating technology. And what's the purpose of rewarding projects that are anyways recognized and successful? Isn't promoting the long-tail alpha much more meaningful?

E.g. a project like Gitcoin has done arguably a lot of "good." But they also have quasi-unlimited funding through their token, so I'd actually argue that they should have gotten less than me (I received 10k) because they already monetized into a "club good," their token.
