From Berlin: Nonsense. It boils down to summer being only a few weeks of the year where most of the population anyways goes on holiday etc. Also: my friends in south of Italy have considerably less purchasing power and working AC in most places. It‘s just the culture

Interesting. 2022 summer looks very much like northeast in the US . Not sure how accurate this data is . But I can understand the culture angle of not expecting an AC (which I would a argue is influenced by the variables ) .
