this is backwards logic. The argument is that traditional/existing groups are worried about immigrants changing their culture. All these groups moved to these places, so if anything it’s actually a counterpoint

the groups in this example gathered or were forced to a place and then either are completely separate (hasidim) or have strongly impacted the existing culture of their surroundings. From my read, this author was trying to make the opposite point
